Gender, form, and etymology

Etymology:

Named Gladiator, inspired by a character in the Universal Pictures & Dreamwords motion picture Gladiator. As the media have subsequently used this name to denote the species, for the sake of consistency the name is here adopted as the specific epithet of the new species.
